Checks
Audit the evidence
Check every claim in an artifact against the research behind it.
How to do it
- Pick one artifact to audit.
- Read the verdict on each claim: supported, thin, contradicted or unsupported.
- Firm up or cut the weak claims before you share it.
Tip. Supported means two independent sources. A claim that rests only on simulated sessions is never more than thin.
What you need
Start from:
- Insight, Persona, Journey map, Concept, Spec, Readout, Jobs to be done, Empathy map or Opportunity tree
What you get: Audit report

- Vary the concept

- Write a readout
- Write jobs to be done
- Map empathy
- Map opportunities
Templates that use it
- Evaluative study: Does this design work for the people who will use it?
- Exploratory study: We don’t know the problem well yet: why do people do what they do?
